"HOUSE FOR AN ART LOVER"

In 1901, Glasgow's most celebrated architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh entered a competition to design a 'House for an Art Lover'. The result was a portfolio of designs that have been admired by Mackintosh enthusiasts throughout the world. Today, the house has finally reached completion - almost 100 years after Mackintosh designed it.
The Mackintosh exhibition rooms have been realised by temporary artists and craftspeople from designs in the original Mackintosh portfolio. Visitors can compare the original folio drawings against each completed room, in which the craftwork has been painstakingly recreated.
