So, sticking to what we imbibe and entertain within our bodies, the very stuff of our sustenance, nourishment and growth.
We, the sensible ones who might be reading these sorts of blogs, might have an idea as to what comprises a balanced and even diet, but do we (I) follow these methods to ensure our health? Very probably not.
I was raised with nutrition as an aspect of my life, but of course I would eat whatever was put in front of me, and if it was tasty I'd eat even more of it, and I never really like junk food, or even fish and chips, so maybe I had a little advantage.
I tried being vegetarian, not for compassionate reasons, but for experimental reasons, and I did try (for a week or so) just eating fruits and nuts, as my girlfriend at the time suggested that was what we were eating as more primitive man, and our bodies and teeth were designed for just fruits and nuts... Well, at least I gave it a go.
Then, as I progressed, slipped back, and then regained my footing, I learned of a diet called macrobiotics, and I determined to learn more about this. There was something quasi scientific about its very name, suggesting a very precise form of diet, with clearly defined 'rules'... In other words, one that I could take in my stride, and I did, I took to it like a duck to water...
Macrobiotic - coming right up sir!
