terms & conditions

Your use of information or booking of accommodation on this website is conditional upon your acceptance of these terms and conditions, without modification. The terms, conditions and notices set out hereunder constitute the agreement between you, the user of this site, and Travel can be Green.

1) The Travel can be Green website is operated by Travel can be Green, a UK-registered company (see bottom of page for details). Travel can be Green is not a travel agent or tour operator. Travel can be Green is a facilitator of accommodation bookings which acts as an agent to a number of accommodation providers. When you make a booking through Travel can be Green you will be forming a contractual agreement with the accommodation provider you have selected, not with Travel can be Green. Travel can be Green has no responsibility or liability to you in respect of the terms of that contract.

2) To make a reservation you will be asked to select your accommodation and dates, give your personal and credit card details and confirm your request / booking – you will be informed at time of booking whether you are making a request or a booking. In some instances Travel can be Green hold an inventory of stock on the system – in this case you make a booking live on the system. In other cases, Travel can be Green will request accommodation from the supplier on your behalf. In this instance you will be contacted within 48 hours to inform you if your requested accommodation is available. If it is available, you will be given the option to continue with the booking.

Your reservation will become confirmed once your personal details and credit card details have been received by Travel can be Green, you have received an on-line confirmation of your reservation (using the email address you provided during the booking process) and you have paid any required deposits (as many eco-accommodations are small, not all can accept deposits by credit card. In some instances you may be asked to pay a deposit by paypal, bank transfer or other methods). Any payments due from you, including deposit, cancellation fees and any other services you agree with the accommodation provider, will be collected directly by the accommodation provider concerned (except in a small number of instances where Travel can be Green collects a deposit by Paypal on behalf of the accommodation supplier, due to the supplier’s inability to take credit card payments in this way). Please be advised that some accommodation providers make a surcharge of approximately 3.5% to accept credit card payments.

3) The remainder of the quoted price, after any deposit paid, should be paid directly to the accommodation supplier in-country (or prior to arrival in some instances, stated in hotel details and on your booking confirmation). Quotations provided through Travel can be Green apply solely to accommodation, and any extras such as meals or transfers explicitly described as included in the accommodation details for each individual supplier. It is your responsibility to pay in full for any additional ancillary services provided by the hotel, and for any taxes levied on top of the accommodation costs described.

4) It is recommended that you re-confirm your booking directly with the accommodation provider prior to arrival.

5) Travel can be Green reserves the right to cancel your booking within 48 hours of confirmation.

6) If you do not receive a booking confirmation email, it is your responsibility to inform Travel can be Green by sending an email to info@travelcanbegreen.com

7) When you book accommodation through Travel can be Green, you are entering into a legally binding agreement with the accommodation provider. As such, all bookings are subject to the booking conditions of the relevant accommodation provider. You are responsible for checking these conditions with your accommodation provider. We recommend that you ensure these conditions are to your satisfaction. If you need to cancel or amend a confirmed booking you must do this directly with the accommodation provider – Travel can be Green is not responsible for amending or cancelling your booking. Cancellation / amendment charges may be payable to the accommodation provider or part or all of any deposit paid may be retained. This will depend on the individual supplier’s cancellation policy. Travel can be Green does not accept responsibility for any cancellations or amendments to bookings made by the customer, Travel can be Green or the accommodation provider, or caused by natural events or any other reason, or for any losses made or expenses incurred. It is strongly advised that you take out an appropriate insurance policy to cover you during your time away from home.

8) When confirming a reservation it is your responsibility to inform the accommodation provider of any condition of any member of your party which could require special provisions to be made. In the event that the accommodation is not suitable for your purpose, Travel can be Green will not be liable to you.

By completing the booking process you are authorizing the accommodation provider to take payment from your credit card for any deposit described to you at time of booking, although in some instances deposits must be paid by other methods. You are also agreeing to the accommodation provider’s cancellation policies, which could also result in payment being taken from your credit card. Once your booking has expired i.e. you have completed your stay in the accommodation you selected, your credit card details will be erased from the system.
