Thomas House Collection
Discovered in the foyer of the Thomas House, a Mt. Vernon,
Ohio, home listed on the National Register of Historic Homes,
these four authentic Victorian patterns date from the 1870's.
Topped by the Mosaic Border, the Mosaic Wall Filler covered
the walls in the foyer up to a height of approximately nine
feet. Over the Mosaic Border, nineteen inches of the Arabesque
Wall Filler had been applied followed by the Arabesque Border.
Offered by Wolff House in the original colours, the Mosaic
Wall Filler and Border are printed on buff-coloured background
papers in ivory, and three metallic colours--copper, gold,
and green, while the Arabesque collection's pale yellow, metallic
copper, blue, red, and rose appear on an apricot background.
Custom colour is also available.

Persian Blossom Collection
Adapted from a turn-of-the-century original, the Persian
Blossom Border is a refreshing woodlands paper designed to
coordinate with a companion wall filler. Clusters of twined
foliage alternate with vase-shaped cartouches filled with
marsh buttercups and tall grasses. The foliage is set against
a surround of water, rendered in abstract designs. Inspired
by Oriental carpet designs, the original paper was impressed
with an Anaglypta-type background pattern, dating the document
paper to after the 1890s. The Persian Blossom border captures
the textured effect of Anaglypta in its low-contrast background
colour, as does the wall filler. Border colours are opaque
and pearlescent greens with metallic gold and bronze on a
peachy-tan background. The wall filler is metallic gold on
the same ground. Custom colour is available. The Persian Blossom
Collection is especially suitable for formal receiving and
entertaining rooms, such as foyers, entry halls, dining rooms,
and living rooms.

Hollyhock Collection
Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, the Hollyhock Collection
features stylized images drawn from nature and similar to
the designs in high style after the turn of the century. The
borders and blocks are printed in metallic gold, lavender,
green, and pale blue on a navy background. The wall filler
is printed in deep blue on a lavender ground. Custom colour
is also available.

St. Gallen's Grove Border
This stylized landscape border is based on an original design
by Hans E. Berlepsch-Valendis, circa 1890-1900. Berlepsch,
born in the village of St. Gallen, in Switzerland, was active
in the German Art Nouveau movement know as Jugendstil (Style
of Youth). The flowing shapes and dreamscape feeling, as well
as the textile-like texture of the background, are characteristic
of the Art Nouveau aesthetic. A flattening of the image, in
which foreground and background appear on the same plane and
the tertiary colour palette show both Japanese and Art and
Crafts influences; Berlepsch studied with the English Arts
and Crafts designers William Morris and Walter Crane during
the 1890's. Offered in the original colour way of greens,
tangerines, and lilac on a cream ground this paper would make
a beautiful frieze in a dining room or conservatory. Custom

Garden's Edge Collection
The Garden's Edge Collection depicts the forget-me-not, a
beloved and old-fashioned American wildflower. Blooming from
May through October, this charming flower can be found in
meadows and along streams throughout most of temperate North
America, and it is the Alaskan state flower. The Garden's
Edge wall filler and border show bouquets of this beautiful
blue flower arranged within arches and latticework. In the
Victorian and post-Victorian period, forget-me-nots were appreciated
as symbols of faithfulness. In that era the "language
of flowers" was meaningful to most Americans, and flowers
were used to symbolize a range of feelings and intentions.
The Garden's Edge border and wall filler are based on a 1905-1915
original. The colours are blues and greens with metallic gold
on a rosy-neutral ground. This collection is appropriate for
bedrooms, sitting rooms, baths, and hallways, conveying a
light-hearted, romantic mood.

Inspired by the incised carving on Eastlake furniture, Wolff
House offers this original collection of Aesthetic patterns.
Comparable to styles popular in the 1870's and 1880's, the
Oriental Garden Collection is shown here in burgundy, sage
green, dark teal blue, metallic gold and metallic copper inks

Reproduced from an original 1885 wallpaper fragment, the
Dahlia Wall Filler is a beautiful example of Anglo-Japanese
